INDUCING

I have been induced with all my kids (except Talon) at 37 weeks. It would be a little exciting to actually go into labor this time; HOWEVER, it is a scary thought b/c I live about an hour & a half from the hospital & I go quick!! -- When I had Tucker I told the nurse I was ready & she didn't believe me, "Oh hun, I just checked you & you were only a 7 - it is going to be a while . . ." A few minutes later, out of pure-d instinct I raised my leg & she quickly realized I knew what I was talking about. She checked me & his head was coming out. The table wasn't set up & my doc wasn't in the room. The nurses were telling me, "don't push yet" & I was crying, "I'm not - he is just coming out!!" My doc came running in & barely caught his head. Labor was a couple hours, delivery about 5 minutes! So, it is very possible if I go into labor I won't make it to the hospital. *I just want to add that I love the idea of having a baby at home - **WITH a midwife!! This isn't an option for me though b/c the complications I have during my pregnancy. And after Big Daddy compared delivering a baby to pulling a calf - I'm afraid, VERY afraid! Besides, with being induced - I look great in all my pictures! I go so quick I don't even have to touch up my lipstick. LOL Also, I will hit the 37 week mark the same week as our homeschool convention - I REALLY LOVE to go to this & would love to have the baby any day AFTER the convention. I am also a little attached to the idea of having a Mother's Day baby. I have VIP with my doc (we've been together since I was 17), so I'm trying to talk him into inducing me on Mother's Day. This year Mother's Day is May 10. May 10 is my best friends birthday & my mom's "Angel Day" (before my little brother, Critter, was born my mom lost a baby on Mother's Day, May 10). May 10is a special day & I would LOVE to have my little man on such a special day.

We'll see . . .
