I have mentioned in recent posts this "flood" my family has been going thru. The past year the Lord has brought us thru:
February 2007 Tim's mom becomes unexplainably sick.
June 2007 My cousin died. We were only 3 months apart & were more like sisters. Our lives were parallel until her death. She left behind 2 beautiful girls that I love dearly.
August 2007 Tim is in the hospital nearly on his death bed (literally) for a week. His recovery was over a month.
November 2007 Tim's dear Nanny died after 97 years. She was the rock of this family & an incredible woman. She played a major role in Tim's life. She was in unimaginable pain for several months & it was not easy for any of us, especially him, to witness.
November 2007 We find out the day we clean out the funeral home that his mother has cancer. A week later we find out she has 3-6 months to live.
December 2007 Tim's receives a notice he is being sued for 5 years of back child support *Which we HAVE PAYED!!!
December 2007 Tucker is in the hospital with a staph infection for 4 days
January 2008 Tucker stabs himself with a knife (no ER visit this time)
February 2008 My husbands mother & my best friend died
February 2008 Tucker jumps off the couch & busts his chin open -- ER
March 2008 We learn that Tim's grandfather has prostate cancer
May 2008 We go to court. $600 a month in child support, no back child support, retro from Jan -- owe $2000 & $4000 to attorney
June 2008 We discover my mother-in-law's oldest daughter is sewing my father-in-law for the land our baby is buried on & about $200,000 in "community property" -- Which is NOT what her mother wanted!
June 2008 Tim becomes very ill again for over a week. ER - Colitis, needs colonoscopy
June 2008 Trevor is bit in the face by a dog.
Praise HIM in the storm!!
CASTING CROWNS LYRICS
"Praise You In This Storm"
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

For a long time I've giggled at how much I've endured (I've had a couple of year stretches that look similar to yours). I even have ulcerative colitis like your dh. As I have looked back, I can point to places where God prepared the way for the storm. Giving me shelter, helpers and His loving embrace. Thanks for sharing Tiff.
